Join us for an informative discussion with Ian Horlor, a Medicaid long-term care consultant with more than 30 years of experience, including 15 years specializing in Medicaid long-term care at DSHS. Ian will share practical insights into Medicaid eligibility, long-term care services, and common challenges faced by older adults, individuals with disabilities, families, guardians, and professionals navigating the system.

About the Speaker – Ian Horlor:

Ian Horlor worked for over 31 years in DSHS, with over 15 of those years in the area that handles Medicaid long-term care. He led the Region 3 unit responsible for representing the agency in administrative hearing requests with the administrative law judges. This unit covered Tacoma to the coast, the Oregon border, and the Cascades. He worked closely with department staff, attorneys, guardians, and clients to identify the best outcome for clients that met the Medicaid rules.
