Instructions to Login to Guardianship Discussion Group at the UW

A discussion group for individuals who are interested in contributing, discussing, and/or debating curriculum development and revision for the Guardianship Certificate Program at the University of Washington.

The Guardianship Discussion Group requires that you login in order to comment on posts in these interactive discussions. It is suggested that you print these instructions and then follow the instructions to quickly accomplish this goal.

QUESTION: How to Login?

ANSWER:

Go to  Guardianship Discussion - UW Forum web page.

You can then view the discussions in the Guardianship Discussion. If you wish to comment in the Discussions or generate new conversations, YOU MUST LOGIN.

To do this, click the "Login" on the upper right of the Guardianship Discussion - UW Forum web page. The dialogue box will read, "Select the organization that you are affiliated with" (note: if you have a UW NetID or ProtectNetwork ID, simply use it here and you will have access).

you must obtain a FREE ProtectNetwork userID and password to participate in this Guardianship Discussion Group. It is easy to do. Just follow these instructions:

1. Click on the "ProtectNetwork" button and then click "Next".

2. The new screen has a "register here" option at the bottom. Click on that "register here" text

3. On the newly opened ProtectNetwork web page, complete the free registration (including e-mail, userID, and a password you select). When you have completed the registration, hit enter.

4. The ProtectNetwork system will then automatically e-mail a message to the e-mail address that you provided to them.

5. When you open that e-mail, and click on the link that connects you to ProtectNetwork, it will automatically validate your user name and password.

Congratulations. You only have to do that once!

6. Now go to  Guardianship Discussion - UW Forum web page. text on the home screen.

7. When the web page loads (which you could only view before), simply go to the upper right corner and click "Login".

8. When it asks you for your UserId and password, you now have them both from ProtectNetwork which you should enter. You can then actively participate in the forum by adding original conversations or commenting on existing ones.

All UW policies and rules of etiquette for discussion forums apply to the Guardianship Discussion Group.
