Notes from March 10 2008 Certified Professional Guardian Board Meeting

CPGs (other than Board members) present: Leesa Camerota, Ken Curry, Sylvia Curry, Chris Neal

1. Chair Report:

Chair Judge Van Deren announced the appointment of Judge Prochnau as the Vice Chair

Chair Judge Van Deren announced that Ree Ah Bloedow remained excused since she is recovering from being hit by a bus in January

Chair Judge Van Deren reviewed potential future Board members. Chris Neal was suggested to replace the "attorney/CPG" vacancy.

2. Standards of Practice: Judge Prochnau and Mike Longyear

A settlement was rejected for a CPG who has a history of not complying, initial sanctions and not in compliance on E & O Insurance

3. Applications Committee: Robin Balsam

A CPG application was denied for an individual who had had 3 appointments for several years

4. Financial Responsibility Committee: Commissioner Valente

Two requests for a waiver of E & O Insurance were denied because both CPGs had more than 25 appointments.

Sharon Eckholm (AOC Staff) reported that 222 of 263 CPGs and 40 of 42 Agencies were now in compliance with the E & O Insurance requirement

6. Retreat Planning – Port Ludlow, June 27 and 28: Judge Van Deren:

Extensive discussion on future CPG education requirements: June 27 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm will be an open meeting on the issue.

It was noted that the Retreat is an open meeting except when the Board goes in to executive session

7. Next Meeting – was April 14 at 9:00 am conference call; may be April 7 in person but not sure where.
